Overview

Microsoft Authenticator provides an additional layer of security for your Microsoft 365 account through Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Setup Instructions

1. Install Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
3. Sign in to your Microsoft account when prompted.
4. Tap Add Account.
5. Select Work or School Account.
6. Scan the QR code provided during setup.
7. Complete the verification process.

Testing

After configuration:

1. Sign in to Microsoft 365.
2. Approve the authentication request in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
3. Confirm successful login.

Security Tip

Never approve an authentication request that you did not initiate.
